Pai is a lush area with many friendly people. It is host to an array of interesting, delicious, and relaxing activities. The local people are Thai, Thai Yai and the hill-tribes Lisu, Akkha, Lahu and Karen making for a festival of color, dress, and custom.
The town rests on the floor of a valley where many local people grow Thailand’s most famous export: rice. Many other crops are grown locally like cotton, bananas, bamboo, soy beans, pumpkins, watermelon, and more. The surrounding mountains have shielded its inhabitants from the hustle and bustle of the outside world for centuries. It’s a private and cozy setting for rest as well as play.
